Koi Nishikigoi Pond

Watching  a school of fish  gliding through the water is soothing. They are a silent and relaxing song.
I had the happy surprise to stumble upon these little colourful jewels and I simply had to paint them!

Spring is here- Sunflowers

Sunflowers
It is quite understandable  Van Gogh's passion  for sunflowers, this is a beautiful flower when it blooms , lives beautifully  and it can become even more beautiful when dying. Its warm hues turns gray, its leaves twists and turns like a ballet in a circular dance.
I was privileged to live a few days with them and yesterday decided to capture their last minutes of life.

High Summer - Flamboyant in Bloom

Along with the unbearable heat, summer comes exploding in color with the lush blooming of Flamboyants all over the city!
These trees have been calling me to paint for some time now,  and soft pastels seemed to be the right choice to make justice to these flowers vibrant colors bathed by the sun.

Caminho do Bem-te-vi - Sugar Loaf Mountain

It is a 1250 meters walk along the base of Morro da Urca and Sugar Loaf Mountain, but it is worth the effort. Walking  the so called Caminho do Bem-te-vi is getting  into an oasis of fresh air sided by the lush rain forest, listening to the music of the sea crashing on the rocks mixed with the sounds of the local wildlife.
At the end of the path we are treated to a stunning view!

Marina da Gloria

I´m always intrigued by the light hitting the cobweb formed by the masts, rigs, ropes and their reflex on the water as well.
