Plein air painting studies - Tiny tin Pochade

It is official! I'm hooked on my tiny tin pochade. It is time to upgrade my supports and try new ones.I'm preparing a batch of linen panels on matboard. It is unbelievable the huge possibility of working and learning so much in such a tiny area.My contact with the great masters original small studies was decisive. Thanks Masters Constable, Boudin and J. Sorolla!
I have already posted here some of these wonderful encounters.

Normandy Impressionist Festival

Painting in Normandy

The 2013 edition of the Impressionist Festival takes place all over Normandy, offering exhibitions and multidisciplinary events (music, theatre, dance, etc.)
This year the theme of the Festival is water.Works by the impressionist masters came from several public and private collections from Europe and USA.

The exhibit at Rouen Fine Arts Museum is superb! One hundred works depicting water through the brushes of Monet, Caillebotte, Berthe Morizot, Jongking, Manet, Renoir, Signac...

I intend to dedicate a special post about this in the future.

.

I managed to find a not so quiet spot to set my pochade box and paint at the Quai du Havre yesterday. Very nice weather!
